Eddie – A Joyful Companion with Exceptional Therapy Potential

Every once in a while, a puppy comes along whose personality makes us stop and take a closer look. Around 8 to 10 weeks of age, Eddie began displaying a unique combination of confidence, affection, and an incredibly happy disposition that caused us to believe he had the potential to become an exceptional therapy or emotional support dog prospect. Because of these qualities, we chose to keep him with us longer than usual to continue developing the wonderful temperament we saw at such a young age.
Eddie has consistently demonstrated three of the most desirable qualities we look for in future therapy or emotional support dogs:
• An outgoing, people-loving personality – Eddie genuinely enjoys meeting new people and quickly makes friends wherever he goes.
• A joyful, uplifting spirit – His playful, lighthearted nature and “always happy” attitude have a way of bringing smiles to everyone around him.
• Confidence and eagerness to learn – Eddie embraces new experiences with curiosity and enthusiasm, making him a joy to train and socialize.
Over the past several months, Eddie has participated in Puppy Culture-style socialization experiences, including visits to PetSmart and Petco, where he was introduced to new sights, sounds, scents, shopping carts, friendly strangers, and a variety of everyday environments. He has also enjoyed regular car rides, bath time, gentle handling, and many positive experiences that have helped strengthen the confident, outgoing personality we recognized early in his development.
While Eddie is not a certified therapy or emotional support dog, we believe he possesses the natural temperament and foundation that many families and trainers seek when pursuing that path.
One of Eddie’s most endearing qualities is his contagious happiness. He seems to wake up every day with a joyful outlook, ready to play, explore, and make people laugh. His fun-loving personality, affectionate nature, and eagerness to be involved make him a wonderful choice for an active family, retirees, or anyone looking for a loyal companion who brings joy into everyday life.
